South to the The Falls (15km)

The Niagara River Recreation Trail starts just two blocks from the train station, and continues south to the falls area, where on road cycling is required.* The throngs of people gathering to marvel at the falls will signify your arrival, if you haven't already seen the mist rising from the crashing water. There's more than enough activities to keep every type of visitor happy for days. This ride is ideal for those who don't wish to ride very far, and those with small children.

Ride to the Falls (3km)
- On road riding required around falls area. Caution recommended.*

Attractions

Return to your accommodations in the early evening and get ready for dinner in any one of Niagara's many restaurants. Try exploring to the North the following day (below).
Or complete your days journey by returning to home base after a relaxing ride on board the Greenbelt Express.

* Alternate route to the falls: Exit Niagara Falls train station - 4267 Bridge St
Take Erie Ave south, past Bus Station. Right on Queen St, Downtown Niagara Falls area,  1 block till left on Ontario Ave. Ontario Ave turns into Palmer Ave. Palmer ends at Newman Hill and busier road riding is required again, as cyclists can choose to turn left to get back to River Road and falls viewing areas, or turn right towards Clifton Hill area and Victoria Ave.
- This is a very quiet alternate route to Falls area. Also ideal for families.

North past Niagara River Gorge to Niagara-on-the-Lake Region (30km)

Head North along the Niagara River Recreation Trail, starting two blocks from the train station and enjoy spectacular views of the gorge and an easy coast down the escarpment. You will pass by orchards, parks and wineries, all within easy reach from the trail. Be sure to leave enough time to get back up the escarpment in order to catch the train home!
